We had a very busy August! First, Tommy's mom and her boyfriend came to visit us. We had fun with them, we went to Napa and did a wine tasting and tour. We spent a day at Muir Woods and saw the redwoods and Stinson Beach. We didn't hang out there very long because it was chilly! We also went to the Jelly Belly Factory and took them on a tour of Travis AFB. Then they went and spent a few days in San Francisco. We had fun with them while they were here! Here's a couple of pictures from their visit!

After they left, it was time to get ready for our vacation. Since Tommy was deploying, we decided to take a little family vacation to Lake Tahoe. What a beautiful place!! Everywhere you go has gorgeous views of the mountains, the lake, or both! We did some biking, hiking, and spent some time on the beach. We biked from Tahoe City to Squaw Valley (where the Olympics were). That was a long, but fun ride!! It was a great couple of days, and was so nice to have some family time before Tommy left. Here are a few pictures from our vacation!

On our way home from Tahoe, we stopped at a Gold Mine. It was interesting to see what had to be done to mine gold. What a tough job!

After all of that, we still had more excitement for August! Matt (my brother), Cassie (Tommy's sister), and Nick (our brother in law) came to visit too! We had a ton of fun with them! We went to Napa for a day of wine tasting! We spent a hot day in San Francisco and went to Alcatraz. We spent a day going to Muir Woods, Sausalito, and Stinson Beach. We also spent a day doing Factory Tours in Fairfield. We all went to the Jelly Belly Factory and got our free Jelly Bellies! Then during the afternoon, the guys went to the Budweiser Factory and did a tour there. We also spent a few days at home going to the pool! It was quite a busy week! Of course, here are some pictures from our week.

Whew! What an August!! As if that wasn't enough craziness, we now had to get ready for Tommy's deployment. Last week, Tommy left. We will see him again sometime after the New Year! Braden and I are doing well on our own but definitely miss having our little family all together!
